Fibromyalgia and Shakeology....IT WORKED FOR ME

In July of 2014 I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia...

FIBRO WHAT?  Fibromyalgia is a disorder characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain accompanied by fatigue, sleep, memory and mood issues. Researchers believe that fibromyalgia amplifies painful sensations by affecting the way your brain processes pain signals.

So I went the medicine route because my pains were so severe.  After about 1 month I got tired of watching myself from 10' behind and feeling as though I was not myself.  So I successfully removed the medicine from my system after many months of withdrawals.  Something had to give.  It just had to.

What I did add was Shakeology®, I figured it was nutrient dense, full of vitamins and minerals so I will just give it a shot.  By December, I was pain free.  By December, I was brain fog free.  By December, I stopped acupuncture for migraines and body aches.  By December, I was back to being ME!!  By December, I started to finally loose weight!!

Again, I am not a doctor, but after doing a lot of research I knew I needed something for my vitamins and minerals. I cannot explain why it worked at the time other than Shakeology was PACKED with super foods which contain super dense nutrition.  Luckily for me, fellow coach Seay Stanford noted several ingredients contained in Shakeology® lend themselves to helping the condition and its symptoms:
  • Camu Camu Berry: Not only is that Amazonian fruit ridiculously high in Vitamin C, it also contains antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce joint pain and elevate moods.
  • Sachi Inchi: This ingredient consists of extremely high levels of tryptophan, which is associated with the production of serotonin in the body. Many scientists believe that low levels of serotonin contribute to the severity of fibromyalgia symptoms. When your levels are naturally boosted, fibromyalgia symptoms are decreased. Additionally, according to the Mayo Clinic, 80 to 90 percent of the body’s serotonin is found in the GI tract. There are so many ingredients within Shakeology® that help aid digestion, it ensures that your body’s GI tract is as healthy as possible. This will help provide the best possible chances for your body to produce and maintain sufficient levels of serotonin.
  • Goji Powder: Containing 18 amino acids, goji is known for being an anti-inflammatory agent and for helping enhance memory, thus reducing effects of fibro fog.
  • Cordyceps: A type of mushroom, it has several intriguing benefits for the body, but the most beneficial one for fibro patients is that it is an energy restorer.
  • Reishi Powder: Another form of mushroom, it’s an anti-inflammatory so it may help reduce joint pain.
  • Schisandra Powder (berry:) This ingredient is a vine found in Asia that works as a stimulator for the central nervous system. It may help re-wire the way your brain functions to analyze pain signals.
  • Maca Root: Derived in the Andes mountains, this vegetable may reduce chronic fatigue.

Although everyone is different, I share this story with you because I was a 31 year old mother of two with Fibromyalgia and would get out of bed begging for the pains to stop, begging to just be me again.  No more headaches, no more pains, no more brain fog.

Shakeology and a clean diet worked for me.  I highly suggest that anyone with Fibromyalgia change your lifestyle and change your future.  You do not have to live with Fibro, I won't...and yes I CONSULTED MY DOCTOR!

Please e-mail with any questions that you might have about my story and how I focused on putting my health first so I could support my family.
