So let me start off with...I AM NOT A DOCTOR... I just know because I have tried and experienced. I suffer from chronic fibromyalgia. If it wasn’t for meds it would take me 2 hours of stretching and slow moving before I did not look like a 90 year old woman. You want to know the problem here, the MEDS JUST MASK THE FIBRO. So I hate taking them. So I did a lot of research on my own to try and figure out why my body can’t move in the morning, why do I have shooting pains randomly all over my body, why do I feel like I am in a fog all day, why are my intestines fighting with me...SO MANY WHY’s.
Then I found it, the answer...INFLAMMATION!!! I have been pushing my body so hard for so long and not helping it to recover. So, my next journey, how do I remove the inflammation from my body. He is not the only Author that has studies on this type of eating, other authors would be J.J Virgin, Dr. Susan Blum, Alexandro Junger, Darin Olien and the list goes on.
The basis of the diet in one sentence...ELIMINATION. Eliminate everything and slowly add back in to see what triggers your symptoms.
→ NO GLUTEN
→ NO DAIRY
→ NO PEANUTS
→ NO EGGS
→ NO CORN
→ NO SOY
→ NO ARTIFICIAL SWEETENERS
My triggers, all of it including SUGARS!! I eliminated everything, slowly added back in and had to remove again. BUT THIS WORKS FOR ME!!! I love this diet. For me I had to take it one step further and eliminate ALL GRAINS, as I read in Practical Paleo by Diane Sanfilippo.
My results, as long as I stick to the diet and DO NOT cheat, I FEEL AMAZING!! All of my symptoms are practically gone! As of March 2nd, I will meet with an Internist to begin my journey of being symptom free. The Internist will look at your diet, blood work, habits, everything about you and adjust your diet and habits on how you need to live to be symptom free. Do you eat too many metals in your diet, not enough protein, not enough potassium, etc. An Internist goal, just like all the other doctors and authors I mentioned above, is to get to the solution of the problem. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO LIVE IN PAIN!!
My recommendation, do your research for YOU and find what works for YOU. If it wasn’t for the love and amazing support of my family I am sure I would be on the meds today. As they did a lot of research themselves and always told me what they discovered and new authors to listen to.
LAST BUT NOT LEAST, at LEAST 30 MINUTES OF EXERCISE DAILY. You are only as strong as YOUR weakest Limb!!
